In its resolve to boost and explore the State’s tourist potentials, Delta State government has approved the development and management of the historic site of the Lander brothers anchorage in Asaba, Delta State capital.

Delta State Commissioner for Information, Charles Aniagwu, in a joint post executive council briefing of journalists at government house, Asaba, with the chief press secretary to the Governor Olisa Ifeajika, said the move was in line with Governor Okowa’s vision of redefining the State’s tourist sector to a notch higher that will attract investors and tourists across the globe.

The Lander brothers anchorage situated at the bank of the River Niger approved by the state executive council for its further development and management will cost the State the sum of 524 million naira.

According to Aniagwu, Okowa’s administration has placed priority in the tourism industry and it will not only attract people from far and wide but will also create employment for its people.
