Toward 2023 Election: INEC set to display voters register in Cross River

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Cross River State says it is ready to commence the display of voters registers across the eighteen local Government Areas of the state for claims and objections.

INEC Head of Department of Voter Education and Publicity in the state, Anthonia Nwobi, said the exercise was in compliance with Section 19(2) of the Electoral Act.

The commission in a statement, sent to journalists by Nwobi, said the display of the register of voters will take place from Saturday 12th – Friday 25th November, 2022, while Claims and objections at Registration Area (RA) at e-ward levels will take place from Saturday 12th to Friday 18th November 2022, and Claims and objections at LGA Offices will take place from 19th Friday – 25th November 2022.

INEC enjoins all stakeholders and electorate to take advantage of the display to visit any Registration Area (RA) and all INEC LGA Offices for claims and objections within fourteen days.

The commission explained that the display of voters register will give the electorate opportunity to ensure that their details including Names, Ages, Unit among others are correctly captured in the Commission’s database advising anyone with corrections to raise it within the period stipulated.
