Enugu State Government in South-East Nigeria has sealed a deal with a Danish company to begin tractor manufacturing in the state.
Governor Peter Mbah announced that by the end of this year, over 300 tractors are expected to be assembled, with a medium-term goal of producing 1,000 units by the end of next year.
The Governor made this known on Friday during a courtesy visit by executive members of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Forum, NECA, led by its new president, Ifeanyi Okoye.

Governor Mbah urged investors, particularly in the agricultural sector, to take advantage of the business-friendly environment in Enugu State.
He assured that with tractors and other farming implements locally manufactured, the country will no longer need to import farm equipment.
The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s ambitious economic plan to boost the state’s Gross Domestic Product, GDP from its current $4.4 billion to $30 billion within seven years, to elevate it from 28th position to among the top three in the country.
