Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has presented the Staff of Office to the 27th Ohimege Igu of Koton-Karfe Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Saidu Akawu Salihu.
The new monarch who is the Chairman of Lokoja/Kogi/Koton-Karfe Traditional Council also received his Gold Plated staff in His Koton-Karfe Palace amidst cheers and excitement.
The 26th Ohimeghe of Koton-Karfe, Abdulrazak Isa Koto had been Dethroned and Deposed in December 2023 by the Kogi State Government.
Governor Yahaya Bello while presenting the staff of office to the 27th traditional ruler of Koton-Karfe,His Royal Majesty, Saidu Akawu Salihu, advised the monarch to use his office to protect his subjects in Igu Kingdom.
The new Ohimege Igu of Koton-Karfe thanked Governor Bello for standing by the truth and making way for justice in Igu Kingdom.
He also thanked the KOGI state government under governor Yahaya Bello for the boldness in righting a monumental wrong in Igu kingdom thereby saving the cherished age-long traditional institution from public ridicule.
