Some traditional rulers in Zamfara State say the lack of synergy among security agencies is responsible for the failure to achieve success in the war against terrorists in the country.
They said this during an event in the state capital Gusau to mark this year’s International Day of Peace
The ceremony, convened by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC), is focused on discussing and finding ways to overcome the prevailing security challenges bedevilling Nigeria.
The occasion was attended by eminent traditional rulers, religious leaders, government officials, representatives of security agencies, and other key players.

The traditional and religious leaders identified the lack of synergy, seeking self-glory and limited reward for dedicated officers as some of the factors, hampering the fight against terrorists in Zamfara State.
The Governor of Zamfara State, represented by his Chief Of Staff, Moukhtar Lugga, said his administration is committed to the ongoing fight against terrorists.
Keynote Speaker, Professor Muhammad Maiyanchi stressed the need for the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps to synergize with relevant stakeholders, to ensure the return of peace to the country.
The state commandant of the corps, Sani Mustapha called on Nigerians to imbibe the culture of peace, which he described as a key ingredient of sustainable development and advancement of any society
The participants prayed to God to intervene in the current security situation and bring back peace and security to Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.
