The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the suspension of train operations on the Abuja-Kaduna route following the derailment of a Kaduna bound train on Tuesday.
The NRC Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, made this known in a briefing with journalists
He said NRC technical staff, the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) and other relevant agencies were on course to unravel the cause of the incident.

While dismissing claims that the trains were not in good condition, he said the refund of the ticket fares has been initiated for all passengers on board.
Opeifa said six passengers sustained minor injuries and have since been treated.
while the number of passengers on board the derailed train was yet to be ascertained at the time of the briefing.
