The Minister of Transportation, Saidu Alkali has assured the newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Kayode Opeifa of the Ministry’s support in the delivery of his mandate.
The Minister gave the assurance in Abuja when the new NRC helmsman formerly reported to the supervising Ministry.
Alkali charged Railway Corporation boss to bring his wealth of experience and expertise to bear in the discharge of his responsibilities.

For his part, Opeifa said he sees his appointment as a privilege to serve the nation and work with President Bola Tinubu in transforming the rail transportation system.
Known as a one time Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State, Opeifa is reputed as a Transportation management expert who has also served as a mandate Secretary in the Federal Capital Territory.
Opeifa will be taking over the position held by Ben Iloanusi, who had been serving in acting capacity since the retirement of Fidet Okhiria in October, 2024.
