The Chairrman of the Nigeria Medical Association, (NMA), Zamfara State branch, Mannir Bature has said that medical doctors in the state have become overwhelmed by the treatment of the number of victims of banditry in the State.
He said hardly a day passes without the medical community receiving victims of banditry.
He added that the victims have continued to come in droves with little human resources to care for them in the various medical facilities.
Bature said just last Wednesday, the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau received some victims who were attacked at Gada community of Bungudu Local Government Area of the State which included soldiers, Police and vigilante operatives.
The NMA Chairrman urged the Federal and Zamfara State government to tackle the insecurity bedeviling the state and minimize the harrowing effects on citizens.
He called on the Federal Government to find the political will to restore normalcy in Zamfara even as the NMA asked the Zamfara State government to urgently convoke a security summit that will proffer solutions to the activity of banditry activities in the state.
