Tricycle rider fakes death in Jos to deceive owner

A tricycle operator, Sani Abdullahi has been arrested for faking his own death and creating tension within Jos Metropolis.

Abdullahi who was paraded at the headquarters of the Operation Safe Haven had reportedly called his mother few days ago, claiming he was attacked and his tricycle taken away by youths of Angwan Jarawa, a suburb of Jos North.

One Abdulsalam Ibrahim from Ali Kazaure Area of Jos North had on November 1, 2021 reported that one Sani Abdullahi was killed by youths of Anguwan Jarawa in Jos.

Abdullahi was said to have been killed while on his way to convey eggs from a poultry located at Anguwan Jarawa was killed by youths.

The allegation generated tension in Jos Metropolis and it took the timely intervention of troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN and other security agencies to maintain calm.

The security later embarked on an extensive search in Angwan Jarawa but there was no sign of any attack.

Two days after, Abdullahi who was reported to have been killed resurfaced at Ali Kazaure Area and was immediately arrested.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Sani Abdullahi collected the tricycle from one Hajia Amina on hire purchase and dubiously attempted to retain the tricycle without paying for it

Abdullahi claimed he was catering for his sick mother so he needed to hatch a plan to make some quick cash.
