Luck ran out of some suspected armed robbers reported to be part of a gang that have been terrorizing motorists and commuters at the Abomeghe/Akpoha axis, of the ever busy Abakaliki -Afikpo highway in Ebonyi State on Monday morning, after troops of the Nigeria military killed one and arrested another.

In a One minute, 46 seconds video circulating on social media, and cited by ait.live, the video captured the scene when travellers and natives attempted to catch glimps of the suspects while praising the gallantry of the troops as they prepared to take away the arrested suspects, while another was seen lying fatally wounded.

But, ait.live is yet to independently verify the amature video.

The Ebonyi State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Joshua Ukandu when contacted to confirm the incident, said information on the development was still sketchy, as the headquarters awaits a detailed report from the DPO in the Abomeghe Police Division.

“I’ve not been able to get anything conclusive, the DPO for Abomeghe confirmed getting information on that, but doesn’t have details, so I don’t have any details to give.”

The Ebonyi Police command spokesman, DSP Ukandu told ait.live in a telephone conversation in Abakaliki.
