Troops Burst Gun Manufacturing Syndicate, Recover Arms

The Troops of Operation Safe Haven, OPSH, while conducting Operation Hakorin Damisa IV, have uncovered a gun manufacturing factory in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, and recovered an array of weapons.

The Special Taskforce, while parading the suspect at their headquarters in Jos, said it will leave nothing to chance in dealing with criminals and troublemakers in all its Joint Areas Of Operation.

This latest discovery by troops of the special task force deployed to maintain peace on the Plateau, parts of Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, under the command of Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar is following a week-long intelligence operation that has finally led to the capture of a wanted gunrunner, Napoleon John, who has been on the wanted list.

The suspect, who confessed to the crime, led troops to a concealed factory, where arms of different calibre were sold by another suspect identified as Monday Dunia.

He confessed to having been in the business for more than five years.

A thorough search of the factory led to the recovery of 22 different weapons.

The troops also raided another hideout in Adua 1 village in Kafanchan, where they made several discoveries.

While commending troops for their doggedness and resilience, the GOC/Commander OPSH, also vowed to ensure that all fleeing syndicate members are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

He warned sponsors and perpetrators of criminalities to immediately abandon their evil ways and embrace lawful means of livelihood.
