Troops Kill seven Suspected Terrorists, Recover one Machine Gun in Zamfara

Troops of Sector 1 Operation Hadarin Daji, in collaboration with their counterparts attached to Forward Operating Base, Wanke District in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria, have reportedly neutralized seven suspected terrorists while several others fled with gunshot wounds.

A source told our correspondent that the gallant troops organized an ambush operation along the route suspected to be used by the terrorists after they got information that a huge number of suspected terrorists were making attempts to infiltrate and attack troops at the Kango Sabuwa community in the Wanke District. But the troops successfully engaged the terrorists, neutralized seven of them while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.

The source said the ambush operation was carried out in the late hours of July 24, 2023.

Shortly after the fierce encounter, troops proceeded in pursuit of other fleeing terrorists and recovered 1 Machine Gun, ammunition and 6 motorcycles from the terrorists.

The Commander of the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, Major General Godwin Mutkut has commended the troops for their bravery and resilience, in dealing with the terrorists.
