Troops record successes in Niger, Sokoto and Borno States

Troops under Operation MESA have rescued five kidnapped victims at Dogon Gona, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria.

A statement by Nigerian Army Operations Media Coordinator, Colonel Aminu Iliaysu, indicated that two kidnapped victims were also rescued on the fringes of Zugu Forest in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, North-West Nigeria.

Similarly, troops of Operation LAFIA DOLE foiled attack on an Internally Displaced Persons IDPs camp in Gamboruo-Ngala in Borno State and rescued five humanitarian staff taking refuge in a bunker during the encounter.

Colonel Iiyasu noted that troops of the Nigerian Army, Cameroonian Defence Force, and Civilian Joint Task Force have also killed five Boko Haram members during the clearance of terrorist hideouts in Abbaram, Nguzuwa, and Cina in Bama, Borno State.

The statement added that Operation Quick Blow is ongoing to ensure safety on major roads linking Borno and Adamawa States to other parts of the  country.
