Troops Rescue 5 Kidnapped Victims, Kill Bandits In North West

Troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji have rescued 5 kidnapped victims, killed scores of armed bandits and recovered arms and ammunition.

A Statement by the spokepersons Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu says , Troops of Sector 1 in Zamfara State responded to a distress call about armed bandits’ kidnapping and robbery activities along Tsafe – Gusau highway between Tazame and Tabbani villages under Bungudu LGA of Zamfara State.

The Troops swiftly moved to the scene and on arrival a gun duel ensued with the bandits. However, due to superior firepower, troops forced the Bandits to flee and abandoned the kidnapped victims. The victims who were passengers and commuters were all rescued unhurt.

Troops of Forward Operating Base Garin Hausawa also rescued 3 kidnapped victims
in Madobiya village in Danko- Wasagu LGA of Kebbi state as armed bandits abandoned the kidnapped victims and fled.

Similarly, Troops of Special Forces deployed to Sokoto state while on routine patrol along Gundumi, Marnona road, Manu village, and gigane village killed one bandit,while others escaped with gunshot wounds, Arms and ammunitions were also recovered.

In Katsina state, troops of Sector 2 while on a routine patrol along Jibia, Magama and Maidabaru road in Jibia LGA Killed 3 armed bandits while 2 soldiers sustained gunshot wounds and are currently receiving treatment in a military medical facility.
