Troops of the 8 Division Garrison, operating under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Sector Two, have launched a successful offensive against terrorist enclaves hidden deep within the notorious Sububu Forest in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The operation led to the neutralisation of six terrorists, the recovery of arms and ammunition, and the rescue of kidnapped underage victims.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Captain David Adewusi.
According to the statement, the troops first engaged terrorists at Indulumu Village, where an intense firefight ensued.
During the encounter, Army said two terrorists were neutralised, and one AK-47 rifle was recovered, significantly disrupting the group’s operational capability.

Captain Adewusi added that, demonstrating unwavering resolve, the troops advanced to Ruduno Village, where they met stiff resistance.
But in a show of exceptional bravery and tactical superiority, the troops neutralised four additional terrorists, dismantled critical elements of the terrorist network, and recovered another AK-47 rifle, a magazine loaded with 28 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles.
The operation according to the statement further extended to the destruction of multiple terrorist camps and logistics bases across Magaji, Galakaje, Filinga, and Kukatara, dealing a major blow to terrorist activities in the area.
Operation FANSAN YAMMA says the sustained offensive underscores the military’s commitment to restoring peace, protecting civilians, and denying criminal elements safe havens within Zamfara State.
