A shooting incident near former United States President, Donald Trump has been confirmed by the Secret Service.
The campaign team for the Republican candidate in November’s election say he is safe “in an incident which occurred around his golf course in Palm Beach Florida”.
“President Trump is safe,” his campaign communications director, Steven Cheung, said, adding there were “No further details at this time”.
Recall that in July, a 20-year-old man almost assassinated Trump at a rally in Butler County In Pennsylvania.
Meanwhile, a man is reportedly in custody following the shooting near Trump golf course.
The Secret Service and Local police are set to hold a press conference even as an AK 47 rifle has reportedly been recovered in bushes near the facility.
Vice President, Kamala Harris has said she is glad that Trump, who is her main challenger in the November election is safe, adding that there is “no place for violence in America”.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI says it is now investigating what it describes as second attempted assassination of the former President.
