Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, says the state’s Internally Generated Revenue has risen significantly—from about two billion naira to seven billion naira monthly—following the implementation of the Treasury Single Account, TSA.
He made this known at the Government House monthly prayer meeting in Uyo, the state capital.
In a move aimed at blocking financial leakages and strengthening accountability, the administration of Governor Umo Eno introduced the Treasury Single Account system across government institutions.
Within just one month of its implementation, the Governor says the impact has been substantial, with revenue inflows more than tripling.
The TSA, a financial management tool designed to consolidate government revenues into a single account, is expected to enhance transparency and improve fiscal discipline.
Governor Eno emphasized that the improved revenue profile would enable his administration better fund development projects and deliver on key priorities.
The government says the revenue boost marks a critical step towards economic stability and sustainable growth for the state and that the TSA policy will continue to be strengthened to sustain the gains recorded so far.
