Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf has ordered the immediate establishment of a Treasury Single Account, TSA for all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies with directive for closure of all other existing accounts within 48 hours.

The directive, which was given during an interactive meeting with heads of MDAs at the Government House Kano, is to discourage manual revenue generation, block leakages and prevent corrupt practices.

Massive funding for education which is Governor Abba Yusuf’s signature sector and the provision of critical infrastructure have been greatly inhibited due to revenue leakages as a result of multiple sharp practices.

Governor Yusuf in taking a bold decision at the meeting with Commissioners and heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies says heads will roll if his orders are violated or treated with levity.

Bank and financial handlers’ banks are expected to submit their Certificates of compliance are expected to be submitted to both the State Accountant-General and Executive Chairman of the Kano State Revenue Service within 48 hours.
