The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, TUC President, Festus Osifo, has confirmed that conversations are ongoing with the presidency, to arrive at an acceptable national minimum wage, insisting organised labour’s N250,000 subsists.
Osifo, who is also the President of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, was speaking at the maiden edition of the Pengassan Women’s Conference in Abuja.
On the return of fuel scarcity in Abuja and environs, the PENGASSAN President says, the perennial problem will persist, until the government does the needful.
The National Chairperson of PENGASSAN Women, Adam Mbaneso, joined the PENGASSAN President to encourage parents to encourage their female children to study science, engineering, and technological-based programmes, as they are not the exclusive preserve of men.
The theme of the conference is, “The dynamic women’s challenges in the economy.”
