A Federal High Court in Abuja has given the Department of State Services (DSS) the nod to detain a former terrorists negotiator Tukur Mamu, for 60 more days.
Justice Nkeonye Maha, in a short ruling granted the prayer moved by counsel for the DSS, Ahmed Magaji to enable it conclude investigations on Mamu.
Mamu had been leading the negotiation with the terrorists for the release of the Abuja-Kaduna train passengers kidnaped in March, 2022.
He was arrested on September 6 along side his family members in Cairo, capital of Egypt, by foreign security agents and repatriated to Nigeria.
A popular Islamic cleric, Sheik Gumi, had on Monday faulted the arrest of the negotiator asking the DSS to charge Mamu to court if it had any evidence against him, rather than keeping him in custody.
Reacting to this the DSS had in a press release warned the public to cease further comments on the subject matter since the court will determine its course.
