There are at least 29 attendees, who introduced themselves as Chairmen of their various states.

This meeting is the first in a series of meetings scheduled for today by the Turaki led NWC as he seeks consolidation following his emergence as the Party’s National Chairman at the Ibadan Convention.

In his welcome address , Kabiru Turaki urged the state Chairmen to come forward with strong ideas with which to drive the Party to success and victory.

Turaki downplayed the actions of those described as “expelled and former members” of the PDP on the side of the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike and Samuel Anyanwu, who on Sunday inaugurated a caretaker committee to manage the Party and sail the ship towards a National Convention.

Turaki urged the State chairmen to brace themselves for the work ahead, insisting that the PDP under his leadership will be steadfast in all operations.

The meeting has gone into a closed door session.
