Two communities in Ekiti State, South-West Nigeria are currently locking horns over the establishment of the proposed campus of the Nigerian Law School recently passed in a bill by the National Assembly.
The two communities are Ilawe-Ekiti in Ekiti South-West local Government Area and Ifaki Ekiti in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of the State.
The institution will be one of the seven new Law School campuses established by the Federal Government in each of the six geopolitical zones to address the increasing demand for law education and ensure balance in access across the country.
The Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi who spoke to newsmen over the matter explained that there is no crisis over the citing of the Law School adding that a section of the media erroneously mentioned Ifaki-Ekiti in the news and the town now arrogated the establishment of the institution to itself.

On his part, the Olufaki of Ifaki Ekiti, Oba John Adegbenro Falore, also blamed some sections of the media for creating unnecessary controversy by mentioning Ilawe-Ekiti instead of Ifaki Ekiti in their reports.
Oba Falore said that Ifaki Ekiti is contained in the Bill at the first reading as well as on the one passed in the in hallowed chamber of the Senate.
The Senate had on Tuesday approved the establishment of seven new campuses of the Nigerian Law School across the six geopolitical zones of the country, in addition to the existing seven. Ekiti State was chosen as the location for the new campus in the South-West
