Two staff members of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company in Lagos State, South-West Nigeria were on Saturday, electrocuted while digging to locate a faulty transformer cable.
State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin who confirmed this said the incident was reported at the Lion Building Division of the Command, on Saturday evening by another member of staff of the company in Lagos Island.

The deceased have been identified as Umaru, aged 51 who got electrocuted while trying to locate a faulty transformer cable at the P&T axis of Obalende while 48-year-old Sunday Awaruwa died while trying to rescue him.
Hundeyin added that detectives rushed to the scene of the incident on receiving the information and rescued the victims who were later taken to the Lagos Island General Hospital where they were confirmed dead.
The police image maker further disclosed that an investigation has commenced into the matter.
