The Chairman of the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Rulwanu Mohamed, has confirmed that two cases of suspected Monkeypox disease have been recorded in Bauchi State, North East Nigeria.
Dr Rulwanu Mohamed said this to journalists in Bauchi on the level of curtailing cholera, Lassa fever and some other communicable diseases across the state.
According to the Chairman, Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Rulwanu Mohamed, the state has recorded success in curtailing the outbreaks of cholera, and Lassa Fever, which hit the state last year.

According to him, the reason behind the success of curtailing the huge number of cholera, and Lassa Fever outbreaks this year, was a result of early preparedness measures put together by the Bauchi State Government, in partnership with development agencies.
In 2021, to curb the cholera outbreak in Bauchi State, over 700, 000 persons were vaccinated with the oral cholera vaccine, supported by the World Health Organization.
