Elder statesman and former Minister of Defence, Lieutenant-General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd), for the second time has publicly called on Nigerians to defend themselves against armed invaders.
Danjuma made a similar call in March 2018 at the He gave this warning on Saturday at the maiden convocation ceremony of the Taraba State University in Jalingo, North-East Nigeria.

While the Federal Government and the military dismissed the call four years ago as “inflammatory” and urged Nigerians to disregard them, the Presidency described the comments as “shocking and scary” and could embolden “criminal gangs”.
The call by General Danjuma after over four years comes as 36 bodies are recovered with others still missing following Wednesday’s attack on Gbeji community in Ukum LGA of Benue State, North-Central Nigeria.
