The United States has officially reopened its newly redesigned American Centre at the U.S. Embassy Chancery, describing the facility as a platform to strengthen educational, cultural, and professional ties between the United States and Nigeria.

In a statement, the U.S. Mission in Nigeria said the upgraded centre is equipped with modern spaces and enhanced technology designed to support learning, creativity, and professional development for Nigerians across different age groups.
According to the mission, the centre will provide access to information about the United States, English language learning, educational advisory services for prospective students, and programmes focused on culture, entrepreneurship, and digital skills.
U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, said American Spaces across the country play a critical role in equipping Nigerians with practical skills through education advisory services, entrepreneurship training, and digital literacy initiatives, helping them compete in a fast-evolving global economy.
He added that the redesigned centre also features large-scale murals celebrating American history, shared values, freedom, innovation, and community.
U.S. Country Public Diplomacy Counselor, Lee McManis, said the centre joins twenty-nine other American Spaces nationwide, serving as hubs for cultural exchange, learning, and engagement.
He noted that the initiative reflects the U.S. Embassy’s continued commitment to deepening people-to-people ties and expanding access to programmes that reinforce bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United States.
