A total of one thousand two hundred and fifty teachers in Benue State North central Nigeria have successfully completed a training in synthetic speech aimed at liberating pupils and giving them the opportunity to speak more fluently.
Some teachers who spoke to our correspondent during the course of the training appreciated the initiative which they say will boost confidence in the school children when impacted.
This comprehensive training on jolly phonetics a child centered approach to teaching synthetic speech takes off in Makurdi Benue State’s administrative capital for selected primary school teachers at the instance of the Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC and Universal learning solutions .
Speaking at the flag off ceremony officials were proud of the milestones recorded since the introduction of jolly speech programme into the country.

An intensive training participating teachers see as timely noting that they will not only retrain other teachers but greatly improve the speech of pupils from the foundation level across the State.
Jolly phonetics as the name implies has to do with learning speech in a fun way.
