Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has lauded reports of a peaceful conduct of the Local Government Council Election in the state.
Governor Emmanuel who gave the commendation after casting his vote said the state electoral body deserved plaudit for a well organised exercise.
Governor Emmanuel, along with his wife Martha, joined other people in Akwa Ibom State to elect local council officials, He said preliminary reports received from across the state have been heartwarming.

Governor Emmanuel pointed out that the Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission, AKISIEC, has impressed him.
He expressed confidence in the local government system, adding that it should be supported.
Reports from across the state indicate a peaceful exercise, although turn out was low.
