Akwa Ibom State governor, Udom Emmanuel has vowed to clamp down on transport companies that convey students on long-distance travels at night.
Governor Emmanuel made the vow when the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim paid him a condolence visit over the death of five corps members from the state in a road accident while on their way to Katsina state for the batch B stream one orientation camp.
It was a really sorrowful mood for the DG of the NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim as he visits Governor Udom Emmanuel to commiserate with him on the death of the corps members from the state.

Governor Emmanuel appreciates the prompt visit of the NYSC DG but expresses outrage at the circumstances that led to the death of the corps members.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brig Shuaibu Ibrahim describes the incident as saddening.
Brigadier General Ibrahim also condoles with the University of Uyo for the sad incident.
The DG was also at the headquarters of the Nigeria Army 2 Brigade, Uyo to meet with the parents of some of the deceased.
