Inyangeyen had been in the eye of the storm of recent, due to his perceived reluctance to toe the path of the governor in the 2023 succession plan, and his aspiration to vie for the Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District seat, against a resolution of stakeholders of the senatorial district, to zone it to another Federal Constituency, other than that of the former Chief of Staff, who was the Commissioner for Works in the first term of the Udom administration.
