Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has relieved his Chief of Staff, Ephraim Inyangeyen of the position with immediate effect.
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Emmanuel Ekuwem said Inyangeyen was fired due to the urgent need to match skill and competencies to the task of maintaining the momentum of economic development in peace.

Ekuwem in the statement conveyed the appreciation of the governor to his former Chief of Staff, for his worthy contributions to the development of the state.

Inyangeyen had been in the eye of the storm of recent, due to his perceived reluctance to toe the path of the governor in the 2023 succession plan, and his aspiration to vie for the Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District seat, against a resolution of stakeholders of the senatorial district, to zone it to another Federal Constituency, other than that of the former Chief of Staff, who was the Commissioner for Works in the first term of the Udom administration.
