The Ugandan Government says plans are underway to deepen existing cooperation with Nigeria as the country’s airline gets set to start direct flights to Lagos from the Entebbe airport.
Ugandan High Commissioner to Nigeria, Nelson Ocheger, who said this during the celebration of the country’s 60th Independence anniversary in Abuja explained that the move will both create and expand business opportunities, enable the flow of merchandise and tourists as well as increase in interactions.
Ambassador Nelson Ocheger, said Uganda has made tremendous achievements over the last 3 decades since it got its freedom from colonial rule.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, said that Ugandans and Nigerians
have lived side by side and shared a common destiny as well as contributed extensively to the activity of the commonwealth, African Union.
Uganda and Nigeria enjoy fraternal relations rooted in their history and shared values.
