A total of 306 Nigerians have been evacuated from Budapest, Hungary by the Federal Government as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The evacuees arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 2.35am on Sunday, March 6, 2022.
They were brought home onboard Airpeace from Budapest, where they had crossed over to safety from Ukraine.
It is the 4th batch of returnees airlifted home by the Federal Government.
The director general NEMA Mustapha Habib Ahmed informed the returnees that president Muhammadu Buhari has approved $100 for each person to support their transportation to their various destination.

The DG NEMA who was represented by the director search and rescue, Air Commodore Edward Adedokun further informed the returnees that arrangement has been made for a night accommodation before proceeding on their journey home.
The total number of Nigerians so far evacuated from Ukraine’s neighbouring countries is now 1,085.
