Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi says Nigeria’s security challenges cannot be totally solved until citizens get to the understanding that security is core duty of all.

The Governor stated this in Abakaliki, while playing host to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya.

Umahi faulted those blaming the President and the Service Chiefs for the county’s security woes, pointing out that as humans, they are only working with local information available to them.

He commended the Nigeria Army for their efforts in combating insecurity ravaging most parts of the country, saying that the current trend of killings and violent attacks in the South East region is self inflicted.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya had earlier told his host that he was in Ebonyi State to flag off the exercise “Golden Dawn”, an Army routine field training programme designed to effectively checkmate all forms of criminality, and allow for the free movement of persons during the yuletide.
