Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi wants the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, to make its stance known on the contentious fuel subsidy removal issue.
Umahi made the call while declaring open the 65th Emergency Senate Meeting of the students’ association in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
The Governor threw his weight behind the total scrapping of fuel subsidies, insisting that the introduction of the subsidy was never a blessing to Nigeria, but rather a ploy by some few individuals to milk the country dry.

Governor Umahi is tasking the student’s leadership on having a fundamental understanding of the fuel subsidy issue, to make an informed position on the matter, in their capacity as critical labour stakeholders.
The Ebonyi State governor is equally challenging the NANS executives to be vocal on other issues that are negatively affecting Nigerian youths, especially cultism and restiveness.
