Abia State government has assured victims who sustained gun bullet injuries in last Thursday’s, Umuahia robbery attack that the State government will take the responsibility of offsetting their medical bills.
A Police officer and two other persons reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries when a three man armed robbery gang which trailed a bank customer, engaged security operatives on routine patrol in a shoot out.

Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem who represented Governor Okezie Ikpeazu was at the Federal Medical Center, Umuahia, where one of the victims, Chimuanya Nwokocha is receiving treatment.
Ezem expressed happiness that no life was lost during the ugly incident, noting that Nwokocha is responding to treatment having undergone a major surgery while another victim has been discharged.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Okey Ahiwe and a representative of the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre, Dr Ugochukwu Onyeonoro were present during the visit.
