21 unclaimed bodies at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Keffi are to be evacuated in the next two weeks if relatives do nothing to claim them
This ultimatum was given in a statement signed by Esther Bature, Head of Public Relations/Protocol and made available to journalists in Keffi local government area of Nasarawa state
Bature noted that the decision by the management of the centre to issue the deadline is because some of the copses have exceeded the six months permitted by law to remain in the morgue.

She explained further that the bodies now constitute a potential health hazard for the hospital and its immediate environs, calling on members of the public who have missing relatives to visit the hospital’s morgue for possible identification and collection
At the expiration of the two-week period effective from November 5 to 19th of November 2024, the medical centre she stated would be left with no option but to evacuate and dispose the bodies.
