In a major push to attract sustainable investment in the economies of States gin Nigeria, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has reaffirmed its commitment in supporting five key sectors.
UNDP Resident Representative in Nigeria, Ms. Elsie Attafuah at a meeting with officials of the Nigerian Governors Forum in Abuja, identified the sectors that the UNDP will collaboration with subnational governments to include; Agriculture, Energy Transition, Healthcare, Education and Digital Economy.
She stated that these are areas where impact will be most visible in the lives of the people.
According to UNDP official, the engagement is about helping State government convert their opportunities into tangible investments that create jobs, expand access and build resilience.
Receiving the UNDP delegation at the Nigeria Governors Forum Secretariat, the Director-General Abdulateef Shittu described the engagement as a timely step in deepening Nigeria’s subnational development agenda.
