Sokoto State Government is partnering with the United Nations Children’s Fund, Unicef to address the challenge of malnutrition among children.
Governor Ahmed Aliyu confirmed this while receiving the visiting Unicef Country Representative, Christien Muduate as the Government House, Sokoto.
The Governor who assured that “in a couple of weeks, we will make funds available for the nutrition funds” says, the involvement of the State Government is geared towards ensuring that children in the state derive maximum benefit from Unicef programmes.
He added that his administration in Sokoto State has introduced several programmes to cater for the needs of children in several areas including healthcare and education.
Unicef Country Representative, Christien Muduate, commended the interest Governor Aliyu has shown in children’s nutrition. She says this will go a long way in ensuring that more children benefit from the programme across the state.
Muduate therefore solicited for a stronger partnership with the State Government in the overall interest of the state.
