The National Association of Academic Technologists, NAAT has directed its members to mobilize for a nationwide protest on November 6, ahead of a strike over five months withheld salaries.

At a briefing in Abuja, NAAT President Ibeji Nwokoma said the government has remained insensitive to their plight.

Meanwhile, the Senior Staff Union of Universities, SSANU, and the Non-academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU are insisting on continuing with the indefinite strike called on Monday until their four months withheld salaries are paid.

NASU Deputy President and Chairman Universities and Inter-University Centres Trade Group Council, Buhari Sulieman said this during the monitoring of compliance to the strike at Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

NASU SSANU and NAAT are accusing the Minister of Finance of disobeying the directive of President Bola Tinubu to pay the 2022 withheld salaries.

The unions went on strike in 2022 over the issue of IPPIS, which provoked the government to implement the no-work, no-pay policy, which resulted in withheld salaries.
