Aguata Local Government Area, where the governor of Anambra State, Charles Soludo hails from, has come under attack, barely a day, after the government constituted a 15-member Truth, Justice, and Peace Commission, to dialogue with the agitating groups in the state.
Reports said the headquarters of the council area came under siege by arsonists suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network, affiliated with the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Soludo has been vocal on the need for normality to return to the state, and in his inaugural address in March 2022, told his people not to destroy their land, over any grievances, but to dialogue.
Thursday’s incident in Aguata comes after gunmen attacked the St. Joseph’s Cathedral Catholic Church in Ekwulobia, killing two security guards, following a prayer session, where the governor called for an end to the sit-at-home.
