Unknown gunmen kill three Policemen in Abakaliki

Ebonyi State Police command has confirmed the killing of three of its men by suspected gunmen.

According to the police, the incident occurred on Wednesday night along Ogoja/Abakaliki Expressway, by Nwezenyi road, in Izhi Local Government Area of the State.

The command’s public relations officer, DSP Loveth Odah who confirmed this development said one other policeman also sustained injury during the attack.

Odah revealed that the attackers disguised in a funeral convoy with two motorcycles, three tricycles and two Sienna buses, when they opened fire on the men of Safer Highway team stationed along the expressway, killing one inspector and two sergeants.

She added that the police is yet to conclude investigations on the incident
