Zamfara State High Court has again adjourned the case filed by the former Emir of Maru, challenging his unlawful arrest, detention, and defamation of character.
The case is now adjourned to December 16th, for ruling on the pending application for the substitution of the Assistant Director to the state director, Department of State Services.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Bello Shinkafi, said the case was adjourned due to a number of pending cases before the court.
As a result, he has not concluded writing the ruling on the application filed by the applicant.
Addressing journalists at the court’s premises, the lead Counsel to the Emir, Sam Anosuke said, the matter was supposed to be for ruling Tuesday the 8th of December, but adjourned to December 16th for ruling on the pending application, earlier filed by the applicant to the court.
Anosuke said, the court has too many cases to handle, that is why the emir’s case is taking so much time.
He, however, expressed the hope that his client would get justice at the end of the day.
It would be recalled that the former Emir of Maru, Abubakar Ibrahim, was alleged to have been aiding and abetting banditry in his domain, and was dethroned in 2019, as well as detained in Government House for eleven months.
