Former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo has sent a condolence message to the Governor of his home state of Ogun following the death of senator Buruji kashamu. the former president described his death as an irreparable loss.

he observed that the late senator during his lifetime “used the maneuver of law and politics to escape from facing justice on alleged criminal offence in Nigeria  and outside Nigeria”

he however noted that no amount of legal, political, social or even medical maneuver could stop the cold hands of death when the time comes.

he prayed Allah to forgive the late senator and grant his famly the fortitude to bear the loss.

former president Obasanjo had an unsavory relationship with the late senator while he was alive, and it was one of the reasons he later resigned his membership of the people’s democratic party, PDP after Kashamu was elevated as the zonal leader of the party in the South-west.

in a protest letter sent to then PDP National chairman, Bamanga tukur in 2013, Obasanjo had described Kashamu as unworthy for that status on grounds that he had an extradition request pending against him over alleged criminal activities in the united states.
