President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday presided over a security council meeting at the Presidential Villa Abuja, The meeting was in continuation of Friday’s meeting over the worsening security situation in the country.
The meeting was held at the First Lady Conference Hall due to the ongoing upgrading of the Council Chamber.
in attendance at the meeting was Vice President Yemi Osinbajo ,Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, Minister of Defence, retired Maj-Gen. Bashir Magashi as well as the National Security Adviser, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd).
Others include Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff; Lieut.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Naval Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Oladayo Amao and acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba.
The Director General State Security Service(DSS) Yusuf Magaji Bichi, D.G National intelligence Agency (NIA) Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, Minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama were also at the meeting.
No briefing or statement on the outcome of the meeting was recieved at the time of this report.
