Recovery operation has been concluded at the scene of a petrol tanker explosion that occurred on Otedola bridge in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos.
The affected vehicles have been removed from the road with the aid of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s heavy duty equipment while damping down at the scene has also been concluded.
A 40ft containerized Truck loaded with fabric had fallen at the bridge inward Berger due to a brake failure which led to a collision with a tanker loaded with 33000 liters of PMS. The impact of the collision resulted in a fire outbreak.
Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA responders, Lagos State Fire Service, and the FRSC succeeded in putting off the fire.

No casualty was recorded but the fire affected the 40ft containerized truck as well as a high tension wire in the area.
The Executive Director, LASEMA, Olufemi Oke- Osanyitolu, said the Agency promptly responded to the fire outbreak after several distress calls it received from its control room.
The backlog of traffic gridlock the incident created has since eased off.
