The Department of State Services DSS has called for calm, saying it is monitoring the security situation across the country.
The agency’s call is coming following the security alert issued by the United States embassy and that of the United Kingdom High Commission which cautioned nationals of both countries to be at alert in and around Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

In a statement by DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, the service enjoined Abuja residents and those in other parts of the country that it is working with other law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order
The statement adds that the populace should avail the DSS of useful information regarding threats and suspicious criminal acts around them.
