Uzodinma swears in four new Commissioners, reshuffles cabinet

Four new Commissioners have been sworn-in in the Imo state Executive Council by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

By this development, the state now has a total of 28 members in the council.

Performing the ceremony at the Executive Chambers, Government House, Owerri on Wednesday, Governor Uzodinma asked the new Commissioners to show commitment, bringing their vast experience to bear in their assignments.

Uzodinma explained that the new appointments became necessary so as to avoid lapses in various departments of governance.

The new appointees took the oath of office and also signed relevant documents.

The Governor urged the new Commissioners to quickly key into the developmental agenda of the government,
urging them to serve with utmost transparency.

The four new Commissioners are Dr. Doris Nkeiruka (Uzoka) Anite, Dr. Bartholomew Chukwunonye Okorochukwu, Prof. Boniface Ginikanwa Nworgu and Mazi Uche John Ohia.

Similarly Governor Uzodinma approved a minor cabinet reshuffle with the following moving to new Ministries;

Those affected are:

  1. Ministry of Petroleum Resources – Mr. Chuks Okoro Nathan Chukwuemeka
  2. Ministry of Finance and Coordinating Economy – Dr. Doris Nkeiruka (Uzoka) Anite
  3. Ministry of Health – Dr. Bartholomew Chukwunonye Okorochukwu
  4. Ministry of Science and Technology – Prof. Boniface Ginikanwa Nworgu
  5. Ministry of Tourism – Mazi Uche John Ohia
  6. Ministry of Sanitation and Hygiene – Dr. Elias Martins Emedom
  7. Ministry of Culture and Creative Arts – Barr. Doris Akubuo Onyeali
  8. Ministry of Water Resources – Mr Tony Umezuruike
  9. Ministry of Power – Mr. Ikechuwu Umeh
  10. Ministry of Mines and Solid Minerals – Dr. Damaris Osunkwo
