The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development , Festus Keyamo says the facilities at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state, are the first of their kind in the country.
Keyamo said this while on a guided tour of the airport terminal building , the second taxi runway and the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul, MRO, facility by Akwa Ibom state Governor, Umo Eno and the management team of the airport.
At the end of the tour, the minister, who was overwhelmed at what he saw, had glowing words for the facilities.
Governor Eno sought for collaboration with the Federal Government to harness the full potential of the airport.
Keyamo assured that the aviation regulatory bodies would be mobilized to support the airport.
The fully automated airport terminal building has the capacity to process over one million passengers a year.
