Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen is now set to undergo a medical ahead of his permanent move to Galatasaray after the Turkish club met all the conditions set by Napoli to sign this summer.

The agreement for the transfer of the player was reached a day before the deadline set by Napoli.

Napoli have set a deadline of Monday for Galatasaray to get their paperwork for Osimhen, having agreed terms on the anti-Serie A clause and percentage issues.

Wazobia FM OAP, Onyebuchi Onokala, who has been a top source in the lingering transfer, shared the update.

“Deal done: Victor James Osimhen to Galatasaray on a permanent move. Final agreement reached between Napoli and Galatasaray for €75m as Galatasaray meets all conditions set by Napoli.

“Napoli gets 10 per cent of future sale. Victor battled Napoli to accept the fifth offer. Next is to make plans for medicals.”

Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, also reports that the Serie A champions will also get €5m add-ons based on goals scored by the striker.

The negotiations dragged on all summer after the Nigerian international spent last season in Istanbul on loan, where he scored a spectacular 37 goals plus eight assists in 41 official appearances.

Galatasaray agreed to activate Osimhen’s €75m release clause and pay €40m upfront, and the remaining €35m paid in instalments by June 2026, but the move has been stalled by Galatasaray’s failure to provide bank guarantees.

According to Sports Digitale in Turkey, Napoli were worried because they have a bad history with Galatasaray in getting prompt payment for the transfers of Goran Pandev and Blerim Dzemaili, which took place in 2014.

Meanwhile, Osimhen has turned down the chance to return to Napoli after also refusing a move to Saudi Arabia.

Crucially, Galatasaray also accepted the insertion of a clause forcing them to pay a huge fine if Osimhen is sold to another Serie A side within the next two years.

Meanwhile, the €75m release clause, which has scared many suitors away, expired on July 15, but Napoli chose to retain the price.

The 26-year-old has been destined to leave Napoli since last summer after falling out with the club’s hierarchy, but the move has stalled even after enjoying a good loan spell last season.
