Vigilante members have attacked Kagara Divisional Police Headquarters, accusing the officers of the police station of not doing enough to curtail the excesses of the bandits in the area.
According to a statement by the Public Relations Officer Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, over fifty members of the vigilante from Tashar Kare Village, stormed the Divisional Police Officer to lodge a formal complaint about the killing of four of their members in a gunshots exchange before the arrival of the Police.
Abiodun said further stated that vigilante members attacked the police station while the Divisional Police Officer was trying to calm them down.
Normalcy was restored in the area following the intervention of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, the Area Commander Kontagora, and the personnel of Operation Puff Ader.
A member of the vigilante sustained a bullet wound as he tried to snatch a rifle from the station guard.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Charge of Investigation, to launch a full-scale investigation into the incident so as to get to the root of the matter.

Adamu Usman urged the people not to take the laws into their hands, as measures are being taken to protect lives and properties of the people.
